The major cause of excessive heat build up in a conservatory, is the roof. Clear polycarbonate allows 80% of the sun’s solar energy to pass directly into your conservatory. The air temperature therefore rises in the enclosed space, often resulting in an uncomfortable atmosphere and accelerated fading of fabrics and furniture.
Solar inserts can be inserted into the cavities of the polycarbonate roof to act as a shield. The sun’s solar energy is therefore prevented from passing through the roof whilst continuing to allow high levels of light into the conservatory. UV is virtually eliminated and glare is dramatically reduced.
In addition, it is known that as generated heat rises in winter, much warmth is lost when escaping through a conservatory roof. Solar Inserts reflect rising heat back in to keep the conservatory warm in the winter months.
